Playboy Clubs Make a Fashion Comeback
Holly Madison may not be at the Mansion anymore but Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Clubs are back everywhere ... well, at least on TV. NBC is developing a one-hour drama set in a Playboy Club complete with the icon Playboy Bunny waitresses.
Starring Amber Heard and Eddie Cibrian, the storyline follows working-class Playboy Bunnies and their complicated personal lives navigating around mob bosses in 1960s Chicago.
During the past season on “Mad Men,” a couple of episodes included scenes set at The Playboy Club in New York. This new series, it is said, is a take off of that show and will have much of the same feel as the popular “Mad Men” show.
Along with the image of the Bunny with Bowtie, two of the iconic symbols of Hefner’s Playboy Clubs and magazine are the Playmate Bunny costumes and the Playboy Club Key. The Key was literally the “Key to the Club” that allowed all original members access.
If you are interested in fashion nostalgia, a version of the Playboy Key is now available as an official licensed Necklace.
